Know where the answer comes from.
Fullymatted is an independent project built by a Porsche 996 enthusiast. It helps you find and compare existing information. It is not Porsche AG, an official workshop or a substitute for a qualified technician.
We bring together original manual references, workshop pages, captured forum discussions, video metadata and source-derived walkthroughs. The original publishers and creators remain the sources of that material.
What do search highlights mean?
Highlights select a matching passage from the source. They are not a diagnosis or proof of a successful repair. Follow the citation to read the surrounding discussion, including who wrote it and whether the issue was resolved.
How are discussion insights produced?
The overview uses deterministic extraction across all exact-matched discussions, independently of the visible result page. It separates reported fixes, unsuccessful attempts, work with no confirmed outcome, suggestions, and reported or suspected causes. The original excerpts and post links are the evidence. Outcome qualification can downgrade a raw extraction when wording is negative or uncertain. Combined repairs remain combinations, and acknowledgements without a verified action link do not establish a fix. These are counts of discussions, not unique people, a success probability or a diagnosis. If the overview is unavailable or a query is too broad, the original references remain searchable.
Has every tutorial been verified?
No. Some entries contain only video metadata; others have source-derived steps and images. Those steps help you navigate the source material, but do not establish that we performed the repair or independently verified it. Creator credits and source links identify the available provenance.
How do I check vehicle applicability?
Check model year, engine, transmission, market and procedure notes in the original material. Related Porsche models may appear in discussions and videos. Manual PDFs can combine model years, and printed workshop page labels can differ from PDF page numbers. Extracted page text can contain OCR errors; compare it with the original page image.
Are reported fixes and costs confirmed?
Reported outcomes are source accounts, not independently verified success rates. An unresolved discussion stays unresolved. Parts are source-mentioned candidates, not a fitment guarantee. Cost references are historical mentions with their original currency and context, not current quotes.
How is information updated?
The reference library can change as additional source material becomes available. Owner-uploaded manuals and local tutorials are published separately. A collection refresh does not mean every underlying procedure was newly reviewed.
Found an error?
Check the linked original source and its context first. For an issue on this site, use the website repository’s issue tracker. Include the affected page URL and a source citation so the report can be investigated.
