Engine -Cooling 911 Carrera (996) Installing coolant pump No. Procedure Instructions 1 Rework new replacementmetal Cut new replacementmetal seal (combination seal)for seal. coolant pump and water guide housing at the connecting webs. 2 Cutmetalseal and installcoolant Cut old metal seal between coolant pump and water guide pump housing at the connectingwebs. Position new seal and coo- lant pump simultaneouslyand fasten. Tighteningtorque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 3 Fit drive belt and tension Fit drive belt, see Page 13 -2. 4 Fit engine carrier Screw in centring screw (M6) by hand. Tighten fastening nuts on engine carrier using special tool 9614. Tighteningtorque: 30 Nm (22 ftlb.) Note The tightening torque is speciallymatched to the special tool.
