Determinetotal disc thickness "Stat" (Sl plus S2)for the correct preload of the tapered roller bearings/differentials. 2. Determinedisc thickness"S3". 3. Determinedisc thickness "S4". 4. Determinedisc thickness"S5". 5. Determineinstallationdimension"E" 6. Divide the total disc thickness "Stot" into Sl and S2 so that the circumferential backlash between the crown wheel and drive pinion is correct. The aim of the adjustmentis to regain the position of maximumsmooth runningwhich was determinedin production on the testing machine.
