911 Turbo (996) PSM 05 45 45-26Fault code 4340 Stop light switch Diagnostic conditions • Ignition on Possible cause of fault ♦Short circuit to ground/voltage or open circuit in circuit to con- trol module terminals 32, 37 ♦Wiring/ plug connection faulty ♦Mechanism of the stop light switch not OK ♦Adjustment of the stop light switch not OK ♦Pressure sensor plausibility Affected terminals Terminals 32, 37 Diagnosis/troubleshooting Work instruction Display OK If not OK 1 Stop light switch function ♦Switch off ignition 0 - 5 Ω Replace stop light test switch ♦Remove stop light switch → End ♦Measure resistance between pins 1 and 3 ♦Actuate stop light switch ∞ Ω ♦ Measure resistance between ∞ Ω pins 1 and 2 ♦Actuate stop light switch 0 - 5 Ω ♦Install stop light switch ⇒ Step 2 2 Check lead from PSM ♦Pull off the PSM control module > 11 V Short circuit to control module to stop plug ⇒ Step 2 ground or open cir- light switch for short cir- cuit between PSM ♦Switch on ignition cuit to ground/open cir- control module plug ♦Measure voltage between PSM cuit pin 37 and ignition control module plug pin 37 and lock pin 15 ground → End 4503 Fault code 4340 45-26 page 1 Printed in Germany – 4, 2001 4340ps05
