If electronic components,e.g. ABScontrol module, have been removed for repair work and are then reused, they must be given a functional check after installationin accordance with the existing specifications! Protection against overvoltage To protect electronic control units from overvoltageduring electric arc welding, the following work regulationsmust be observed: .When welding work is extensive,the electronic control units must be removed. Ensurethat there are no electricallyinsulated parts betweenthe earth connectionand the welding point. .Remove clamp from negativeterminal of battery and cover neg- ative terminal of battery. .Connect the earth connection of the electric arc welding equip- ment as near as possible to the welding point on the part to be welded. .Do not touch electronic c.ontrolunits or electric cableswith the earth connection or the welding electrode. Replacing control modules The replacementof electronic control modules after an accidentis necessary if at least one of the following conditionsis met: The housing is noticeablydeformed or damaged.
