Disassembly
Note
Before the engine is fastened to the engine
holder or assembly stand, detach and remove \.,l v
the thrust plate and flywheel.

1. Fasten toothed segment (special tool 9538/1) ~JI /II on the crankcase half (cylinder bank 1 -3) ~
with hexagon-headbolt M12 x 50.

bolts.

2. Detach thrust plate.
Note
In order to avoid deformation of the thrust
plate housing, always loosen screws in several
stages and in diametrically opposite
sequence.
3. Removethrust plate and drive plate. 271_96
4. Detach flywheel (Torx T55). 7. Removeenginecarrier.
5. Fasten engine holder, special tool 9589, to
the crankcase half of cylinder bank 1 -3.
