forum, fraid my tech knowledge is pretty crap, but you will soon be reading some really useful hints from others on the forum. For what its worth I was plagued by battery losing charge for the first few months of ownership, replaced battery-no change, then my garage traced it to an obsolete tracker device fitted by a previous owner-we disconnected it -problem solved.

No, the volt meter testing also gives you a good idea on battery health. I had to go through all of this 3 years ago when I had the slow battery drainage and trying to source that issue. I'm done throwing parts at it, guessing if that will fix it. We did that with the alternator pulley and that didn't fix anything. I'll hook it up to a scanner tonight and see if that will provide me with some insight.

Recently the battery in my key fob died. No biggie, I bought another and replaced it. The strange thing is that it still doesn't work (now it lights up at least). I feel like I've changed this battery before without having to reprogram the key. Is it typical to have to pay for reprogramming when you replace the battery? -Shawn

Hey all. I stupidly left my car unlocked in the garage with a door open and flattened the battery. After both charging and reconditioning the battery on a CTEK, the car won't crank. I don't think the fuel pump is coming on either. I thought the battery might be dead so bought a new one, it still won't crank. I've checked fuses C1-4 and all is good. I've tried both keys and get the same behaviour. Maybe some sort of immobilizer issue after letting the ba

Time for a battery change. Original battery on 40 th anniversary. Not dead yet but want to avoid a jump start etc... 2 questions... 1) do I need to use an external power unit to prevent the radio/nav from locking me out and thus requiring the radio code etc... 2) any recommendations on batteries? Dry cell e.g..? Thanks....

re and acquired this 2002 911 Carrera. It was well taken care of over the years, 99k miles. I am trying to start it after sitting for 4 months, had a very dead battery (had to do the 12v in the fuse panel trick to get the frunk to pop). Replaced the battery with same exact battery it's been running for 5+ years. VERY slow crank and cannot start. I tested the battery, its fine, no issues. I hook up a thick set of jumper cables to a running car, let it sit for 5-7 minutes, then it will start while still connected to the run

Thanks, still correct - at least for the CY2020 Moll K2 battery in my MY 2006 997; was wondering when the previous owner replaced it.

s, there seems to be almost as many different opinions as there are people responding. I will probably look at both the sears and the interstate. I did pull my battery out...standing in the trunk to lift that heavy sucker out. I did notice the adjustable hold-down bracket but it appears maxed out with the current model size of approximately 12 1/3 inches. I am interested if anyone knows the actual dimensions of the Porsche battery part # 99961108820, the original battery part # is # 99961108020. I can pick up a new (the b

uadcammer - I believe he modified his tray. I recently replaced my tray and the part I received had all the holes threaded. Here's the part number: 99750415100 BATTERY CARRIER Replacement went into a 2004 996 C2.

I replaced the original Banner H7, AGM type, 80 Ah battery, Porsche Original Telle [Part No.] 999.611.080.12 in my 2017 C2S today with one purchased from a local Walmart store. The new battery is same H7 size, also AGM type, 850 CCA. I'm trying to code the new battery to my car using an iCarsoft POR 3.0 scan tool which is advertised to be able to do battery registration. Per the iCarsoft protocol, it first requires
