Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Are you selling? Or just trying to get a valuation for some reason? If selling, just have a look at what similar cars are up for and advertise it accordingly - if it sells, you probably got the price right, if it doesn't, you didn't! Sorry to sound a bit flippant, but the only valuation worth anything is from someone who is prepared to buy it... Nice spec and colour by the way...
thanks Wattie, Im not really wanting to sell - I like her far too much for that but worried that I purchased at possibly the worst time with market going south!
Lucky996 (oh the irony) in all honesty you probably did purchase at the worst possible time but I don't think anyone could have predicated such a rapid devaluation in the 2nd hand prestige car market. I am not very good at car values and as Wattie has said it is worth what some is willing to pay for it but if I had to guess it would be £23-26k. If you have no need to sell the car and can afford to maintain it to the standard that is required then I wouldn't worry too much about depreciation. Enjoy the car for what it is and remember that at least the price of petrol has dropped.
If you're not selling, and you can't unwind the deal, quit worrying and get out and drive it! :hand: I've had my 996 for nearly four years and it's never had any equity in it all that time... Am I bovvered... :?: :floor: :floor: :floor: I'll worry about it in January when I have to pay off the finance balloon payment! Enjoy it mate - life's too short to look backwards. :bandit:
Thanks Dave, I hope when you state 23-26K your referring to a would be trade price and not private ? :nooo:
I think 26k is realistic on a private sale. By all means if you were to sell it advertise it at 28k but it is a buyers market and 26k is what I think you would get. Edited to say that I think I might be being a little pesimistic here. The figure I mentioned is next months price
thanks dave, guess its going to get worse not better. seriously though will the values harden up eventually in 12 months say?
I wouldn't bank on it I'm afraid... I think the market has just realised that the 996/997 is just another prestige car now, and not every one is a future classic. Look at prices of things like BMW 6-series, MB SLs and CLS, Maserati, Range Rovers, etc.. for guidance. 996 / 997 will not last for 20 years without major work, which the standard models are not worth investing that much in tbh. I wish I could be more optimistic, but I'm afraid there are just too many of them out there (and too many with very expensive repairs needed) for them to stop depreciating :nooo: Having said all that, they are no worse than any other £60,000 car new - in fact they are a hell of a lot better than most.
