Has anyone seen this or know the car? It'd be very interesting to see what this goes for as yellow cars in this spec seen to be starting to make serious money. A word to the wise though, if your thinking of bidding on this, I wouldn't dream of it without a proper like around those jacking points and sills. My jacking points didn't look much worse than that and anyone who's seen my project will know the nightmare that unfolded. Fair enough my car was waxoiled so I didn't see the full extent. The car generally looks very nice though as does any yellow aero. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions/2000-porsche-911-996-speed-yellow-Qg65p8

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Lovely car, and great colour. 8) (but then, I'm probably biased ).
I was just concerned about lack of history since 2014 and how worn and shiny the drivers seat looks
Yeah I noticed that. It be interesting to see what it makes. The colour will blind a lot of people to the faults.
Isn't that loop thing at shoulder height the belt retainer for the seats out of a cabriolet model? I guess the seats may not be original to the car.
Mine are the same and I've been told by someone that they looked at the car previously and it had a different interior. I was under the impression that they're out of a boxster. Never worried me as they're still sports seats though my drivers seat is pretty shite. It's on the list of to do things. I'm after a gt3 replica bucket or similar.
What an unusual advert. Stating the car is basically a GT3 without the engine is ignorant and misleading. Selling a car with the V5 in the previous owner's name is odd, as is not registering it in the first place because the new owner wasn't going to use it much (and is probably, strictly, illegal?). The condition looks typical for a 20 year old, 100k+ mile car. I spy a copper brake line (and braided hose?) but no mention in the advert. It's had coilovers but no other mention of suspension work. The close ups of the jacking points don't inspire me with confidence, as NedHan says, about what else may lurk beneath. There's fresh underseal in one of those photos - what's that covering? The rust in the engine bay is just plain odd. Or is it only a bracket for the K&N? Either way, when I read the advert (written by car and classic?) I got the impression the author was keener to preserve their reputation than sell the car. My guess is a dealer would need to put £2-£3k of work in at retail prices and would achieve high twenties. Even with the patchy history (again, strange to service the car but not stamp the book when you actually own the business??!!) and 'typical" condition I expect it'll make early £20s unseen at auction. Will watch with interest.
Yeah a lot of fair points there. If the car was silver, would it automatically be £15k at auction in that condition? I wouldn't normally try to start a conversation like this but I just wanted to see if the yellow makes that much difference. I recently saw a yellow coupe with similar miles on piston heads, desirable spec from friends green Porsche. It was priced at £30k and sold to someone over here (NI) from what I gather but maybe wrong on that one.
I absolutely love the look of this car, but I dread to think how much it'll go for! About 6 months before buying my car I made enquiries into a similar car which had unfortunately just sold for £14k.
I gave £14k for my aero 3 years ago. 74k miles with a full history but unfortunately registered as accident damage to which I have never got to the bottom of. The rear bumper has had a fix but very miner. And some nice mods. Perfect spec except for the sunroof but I like the sunroof so I kept it. My car did however turn out to be rotten so I've spent the last2 years sorting it. I'd believe it to be stronger now than any aero 996 out there though it's not finished yet. I've never found any other accident damage and I've been through this thing thoroughly. Fair enough I've no great expense as I fabricated everything but no stone has been left unturned. All brake pipes, new clutch and lwfw etc. Every job that needs done has been. A massive amount of upgrades along the way except for coil overs as I just didn't have the budget for it but new arms etc have been done. The list is endless. What will it be worth? Probably very little as it's accident recorded but at least I'll have a 911 for years to come. If someone arrives with a silly offer when it's done I'm sure I'd take it but that'll never happen. I had considered painting it yellow simply as it's desirable but I decided against it. It's my car and I'll do it how I see fit. I just simply wanted to let anyone know that these things can carry a lot of hidden problems. I'm into at least £10-£15k in labour on this and that's not at big rates. There's potentially massive bills on what looks like a nice car. Buyer beware. If someone here buys it and it all turns out to be good then great. I'd be very happy for them. Always nice to see another one out on the road. Never see any over here as I'm in the country side with a small commute. I would love a poke around some more cars, just for comparison
Looks pretty crusty underneath compared to my non aero car too! Makes me wonder what nasty surprises could be lurking.
This is my point. You just don't know without a proper poke around
Meticulously maintained....with missing history? Looks like well worn interior too....
I'm all for high prices on the right cars to drag our values up but I'd also like to see them stay low for possible future purchases. Just be interesting to see what difference the colour makes really
I think the aerokit will add more value than the yellow, but I also think yellow will add more value than silver.
