Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone had any experience with Pilkington replacement windshields instead of OEM Sekurit? I had arranged for a replacement on my 99 996 and had specified Sekurit. The glass company said they would get one, but today they showed up with a Pilkington.

POST 2Original post

They are good for 996. They are cut small on '65-'88 911's. Same with PPG glass. Windshield rubber sucks into upper A pillar opening. 096 are glued in. And never had any problems with them.

POST 3Original post

Pilkington supplies glass for Porsche, BMW, etc. Both my BMW and 993 have Pilkington replacement glass that came from the dealer (the 993 glass says 'Made in Germany').

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
