Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've noticed that some 996s have a lower back cushion in the rear seats and others don't. Does anyone know if this was an option or down to the year / model / spec of the particular car? Exhibits A & B attached.

POST 2Original post

Top one is a coupe... Are the cabs also like that normally? Looks like it's another section that clips in, never noticed before!

POST 3Original post

As Robert implies, I think the 2nd pic is from a Cab. As far as I'm aware all coupes & Targa's had the same seats shown in the 1st pic, & only convertibles had the extra bolster, & a slightly different lower base too. I think the cab versions don't have the extra outer "wing" section on the lower base. Not sure why, perhaps the angle for the rear back rest is different due to the folding hood gubbins.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Sp1ke and Robert1, I will sleep much more soundly understanding the logic behind the difference.
