Hello All, I have a car, it has come with 19 inch rims. The ride is terrible and you can feel every pothole in your back. They are also 3rd party rims, so they are starting to rust as the coating is not as superior as the original. I was looking to move back to 17 inch rims. The original of the Carrera 2 was. 5-spoke base wheel says 996.362.124.00 7 inch 996.362.126.05 8.5 inch 996.362.128.00 9 inch My question is. Do I order 4 of a part number ? or do the front need to be 7 and the rear 9 ? One person told me it is 9 and 8.5 so can't tell. Thank you

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The 7s are for the front, and 8.5/9 for rears (I want to say it's 8.5). I have the base twists in 17" I bought cheap from a member here then had them refinished in black. The ride is a noticeable improvement from my 18" wheels. I believe the tire sizes are 205/50/17 & 255/40/17. The extra sidewall makes all the difference; should be a huge step up in comfort from your 19s. PS - The rim is the outer lip of the wheel .

I switched from the original 17" wheels that my car came with to 18" Sport Techno hollow spoke wheels and didn't notice any difference in ride quality. The 18" wheels look much better and I have 295/30's in the rear. I have 15mm bolt-through H&R spacers on the front wheels (you'll need longer lug bolts) which I had on the 17" wheels as well. Whether you get 17" wheels or 18" wheels, I highly recommend them as the wheels stick out more (giving the car a much better look) and there are no rubbing issues. BTW, 996s never came from the factory with 19" wheels, and the rear tires would have to be 25 series in order to maintain the same tire circumference, which is a very low aspect ratio, which would explain your very harsh ride,
