Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having recently sold a Boxster, I am considering buying a 996. I would be looking for a sub 30,000 miles car, as would prob look to put 15,000 a year on via my own day to day use. I would like any buying advice, things to look out for, likely price ranges, in fact anything that will help me make the right choice. Any help appreciated.

This has been covered a lot already: try a search for 'purchase' in the 996 subforum and you will get loads of hits. For a start the links at the top of this one: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=269468&mpage=1&key=񁲜.

Just a caution (from past experiences)... 30,000 miles is very low for a 996 due to its age already. To find one of that mileage you will pay quite a premium, and then eliminate that by the mileage you are adding - which will make depreciation worse.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
