I currently own a 2008 Cayman S and looking at trading it in on a 911S . I am trying to get a handle on what dealers are charging for getting a Porsche Certified Pre Owned car. I am getting the feeling that a dealer charges whatever he can. Can other members let me know what they paid for this certification? I am looking at a 911 because I've always wanted on and not that I am unhappy or don't like the Cayman.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's usually $2000 from US dealers.
the cost is 2k, however you have to pay for all of the work to be done to the car.... ie, N spec tires ... I traditionally invest 2500+ just in work to the car, not counting the cost of the warranty..
I was looking at a CPO car a few months ago, it was still almost brand new, I asked the salesman if it could be bought without the CPO and he told me it was about $2k less. As Casey points out, it's different making a car CPO because of the work that may have to go into it.
I appreciate the feedback. One dealer wanted to charged me $3,000.00 then backed out of the deal (too many details to go into) and said the Porsche Certification should cost more. I'll never deal with them again or recommend them. If anyone has more experience please let me know.
I bought a 2008 911 Turbo with 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty. My dealer said it cost them $2000 for it. Brett Smith is his name. Here is his web site if you have any questions.
