Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking for an exhaust system for my '99 C2, does anybody know which is the best system? Does the exhaust make a difference? (I don't want to feel as if I've just wasted a couple of k's!) I've been keeping a close eye on these two... Exhaust 1 | Exhaust 2 Any responses appreciated. Cheers!

POST 2Original post

Welcome! There are loads of exhausts on the Porscheshop page- which one did you mean? The one on D911 looks good- you get the headers too which is nice. Looks like a fabspeed unless I'm mistaken, in which case make sure it isn't boomy sounding... The proof of the pudding is in the hearing as it were. I can tell you the switchable exhaust- £1460 at Porscheshop- sounds great, and many others on this site have the system on their cars. Some main dealers will supply and fit this system for £1500 all in, which is a great deal as there is a lot of labour involved. I'm always a little dubious about the power claims- you'd need a remap to feel the full power benefit.

POST 3Original post

both would be excellent choices and far better than the softer OEM systems

I'm not up for the sound, although that is part of it, I'm all for the power gains of the exhausts. And yes I plan to get a remap along side with it. My Car (996 C4 pretending to be a GT3!):

Looking good.. Good garage you bought from too - :thumb:

POST 9Original post

Hi what sort of power gain can you get from the 3.4 by re map & exhaust? Is it worth the cost (well over 20% of car value for both I would have thought)
