Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted this in the Boxster/Cayman forum with no responses - I think it's mostly crickets in there. Much more activity here. My 2006 CS started running rough on my way to work yesterday, started to feel like a diesel and sounded terrible. Luckily no "metal on metal" clanking noises. I'm perplexed as to the cause. I've heard of the cam lift/timing solenoids failing over time, but I think that would have an effect on all 3 cylinders on that side. I have a new set of coils & spark plugs, should I swap those in to hopefully fix the issue? I'm at a loss. the OBD2 reader I have doesn't give much insight and I don't have a workshop manual. Help?
