Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

can someone advise how to open front bonnet with a dead battery pls 996 1999

POST 2Original post

Your car will have mechanical lid releases, which remain locked if the battery goes flat whilst the car is locked and alarmed. There are a couple of options: 1) Remove the front part of the NEARside front wheel arch liner, and get your hand in to the back of the headlight tray. Fiddle around, and you should find the loop on the end of the emergency release cable. 2) Remove the lever panel on the driver's side (2 x Allen screws under rubber bungs) and you can release the lever lock, which is a metal plate that engages in the levers. There are a couple of other ways, but those two are the easiest to explain.

Seems like you have 1999 car so I'm guessing that you won't have the pull out +ve terminal in your fuse box? If so then this might help: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=622826&mpage=1&key=open%2Cbonnet򘃪 Mine's a 2003 so not too sure on your model. Hope this helps! Adrian. EDIT: Sorry - took too long there!!
