Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have a 06 Boxster base 2.7L 5 speed and I am doing a complete rebuild on it. While inspecting the parts I noticed the cam gear on the back side are chipped/chunked and so the shaft is no good. It has a part number of 996105015.67. From what I can find online is that is the reference to the bearing size. I have to replace it with a used part and was wondering if any of the others will work ending in .64, .65 ect... I am rebuilding it to sell so not looking to spend big $$ on it if not needed. The heads were the real issue and I have rebuilt them. Bores all look good no scoring and all measure with in wear spec. So not looking to spend 2k on a fancy LN one... save that one for my personal car... lol THANKS Rob 08 Boxster 06 Boxster 67 Outlaw

I did find this on my search... it's at the bottom. Superseded Part Numbers.
