Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys I have a 996 c4s which I've been told is an x51 , how can I get proof of this , I've looked at the bonnet sticker and along with various codes I see x51 ? Is there anything that I should be able to see in the engine compartment that might be a clue ? I can put up a pic of the boot sticker if that's any help ?

POST 2Original post

Easy to see from the engine bay... the X51 intake manifold on top of the engine looks very different... silver instead of black. You are lucky... X51 4Ss are rare, would be a great car.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The pics of x51s I've seen in the for sale ads (not that many I'll add)all seem to have black intakes ? ?

POST 4Original post

There's some more detail on what to look for in GT4s response to the same question on this thread a few years ago. See --> http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=44646&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=x51

POST 5Original post

Then they aren't X51s :dont know: All X51 cars have cast alu inlet manifolds. Google a 996 40 Jahre for example

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info I'll have a poke around , it does have x51 code in the service book and also on the vin sticker stuck on boot , so maybe it is , I'm assuming the alu cast inlet is black ,or will it be aluminium metal colour? , I did drop into my local porsche centre they did a check on their computer and gave me a print out of the build sheet and there's no mention of x51 option ?? Bit confused as its on the service book and boot sticker
