Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi There, I have a 2003 996 Targa and recently noticed from time to time that the Oil Pressure Gauge drops to Zero, maybe only for a few seconds then returns to normal 3 to 5. There does not seem to be any pattern as to when it happens, I can go days or even weeks with it not happening, then it will happen 3 or 4 times on one drive. However i've not noticed it happening when driven at speed or hard. Gave to specialist and he advised was most likely loose connection. No other indication or feeling seems to be effected. Anyone experienced this before? THanks, Chris.

POST 3Original post

Chris, most likely to be a dodgy oil pressure sensor - common problem - does your pointer on the guage flicker as well? Would advise getting it checked to be sure - Simon

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sounds exactly the problem. Will have it replaced at local indy in Glasgow. Thanks all puts my mind at rest.
