Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I made the mistake of not getting the upgraded stereo. Does anyone have any experience in adding rear speakers? Is it even possible to add them to the 4 speaker stock CDR24 stereo. Also is it pre-wired? Thanks

POST 2Original post

You'll have to pull rear hatch pieces to see if it is pre-wired, you should be able to buy the speakers separately from Porsche or go with better aftermarket ones, but wiring them up could be a chore if no pre-wiring exists.

POST 3Original post

I thought all US cars came standard w/the "plus" sound package including 7 speakers (2 in the rear). At least my '06 did. The only upgrade was Bose. Has that changed?

POST 4Original post

Yes the non-S cars starting in 2007 don't have rear speakers if you get the regular stereo.

POST 7Original post

Is there an article or website that show's the proper removal of the rear hatch pieces?

POST 8Original post

Yes in our articles section (Click Artices at top) then find the cosmetic articles and there is a 2 part series on taking out the rear hatch pieces, follow those 2 articles and you are golden.

POST 9Original post

Just an update. The car is NOT pre-wired and does not have a rear speaker enclosure.

POST 10Original post

Thanks for the update, good to know for future reference!
