Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I started changing the spark plugs tonight and snapped the attached photo of the number six cylinder (passenger side, forward most). It looks like bore scoring to me. But I know there are people here that can give the picture a closer look. The car is a 997.1 Carrera S with about 77K miles. The car is a Texas car since 2020 and gets about 3K miles per year. I have two quick questions: For those of you who just enjoyed the car and did not worry about the bore scoring, how long did you make it before the bore scoring necessitated a rebuild? For those of you who ended up rebuilding the engine and lining the cylinder, what was the final out the door price you paid? Thanks everyone.
