When reversing the car on full lock my front wheel is dragging like the wheel is out of sync. Does anyone know what causes this? Thanks Bash

My 997 does the same but only on my drive. Just put it down to fat cold tyres? Can anyone else offer advice? Pete
I noticed it on mine when I first bought it but it is only obvious in winter, so put it down to the cold weather. TB
I think they all do it, and I can only assume that it is much worse in cold weather when you first start the car as the compliance bushes have not yet warmed up? Mine makes a terrible noise sometimes as I have to do a full lock turn in reverse at the end of our cul-de-sac every morning! Do a search for Ackerman effect on here if you want a bit more info (and some light entertainment  )
I was told by my OPC that this is perfectly normal behaviour for a 996.
It can be made worse by having the wrong size wheels/offsets on the car as well. PS - I'm sure you know this, but it's generally not a good idea to put your car on full lock (damages steering rack and steering pump). I always stop just short of full lock, so I'm not sure if mine does this or not.
all 911's do this. Its the Ackermann steering geometry (or the reverse of it) he says smuggly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ackermann_steering_geometry
He says even more smugly...
Phew!! Thanks guys... that's put my mind at ease!
Boo you took my smuggieness (should read all replies first doh)
yet normal behaviour
I think it's more a function of tyre width. If you think about it, the outside edge of the tyre has to travel a greater distance than the inside edge in a tight turn.
fantastic! I was wondering what that was!
and another one! Thought it might even be the tire rubbing the the wheel arch liner
Had same problem when reversing my 2001 C4 off the drive in the mornings. More noticeable in the recent cold weather and very disconcerting. However. I have just fitted new Pirellis all round and there is now no funny noises at all putting on lock. I'm assuming that the disappearance is down to the new fronts. Therefore, new tyres appear to resolves the issue.
