Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have recently bought a (facelift) 2003 Carrera 2, being my first venture into Porsche ownership. The car is 'standard spec' with absolutely no options attached. Could someone tell me what level of Traction Control (if any) will be on the car - I do not seem to be able to find the answer anywhere. The dealer said that whilst PSM was an option, ABS and traction control was standard on the car? Apologies if this has been asked before Thanks

POST 2Original post

PSM = Porsche Stability Management = Traction Control

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Paul Thanks for the reply, but the Porsche centre led me to believe PSM was much more than just traction control meaning it was an 'option' on this model porsche. As my car doesn't have PSM, will it have any form of traction control at all, or did 911s have traction control before PSM was introduced? Thanks

POST 4Original post

note the changes to the 996 for the 2002 Model Year http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=32338 PSM standard

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. I thought it should be here somewhere!

POST 6Original post

PSM is not standard on all facelift 996's, only on the AWD versions ie C4 or C4S, it was an option on the C2. PSM and traction control are different beasts. Have a look at http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=26350&highlight=psm+traction and http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=36417&highlight=psm+traction :thumb:

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Stuart. I don't think my car has either of the systems - from the links you attached, it would seem both systems have an 'on/off' button within the dashboard that does not appear in my car Thanks for the links to help clear it up

POST 8Original post

How come all my stuff from PCGB has ended up here?? :?: :?:

POST 9Original post

Were those links to your stuff? Oops, sorry, I guess it's a credit to the good work you do :thumb:
