Hi all My 996 is shortly due for service and may well require a pad replacement. Therefore, as the driving i do and will be doing involves quite a lot of firm braking, i've been thinking of upgrading the pads to something like EBC Yellow ie a race pad but equally at home for perforamce road use. Ideas, comments please Thanks Andy

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I use Pagid Blues (RS4-2) in my 993 mainly as a track pad, and they are good, and certainly better and longer lasting than the OEM Textars, though not as long lasing as I had hoped. They do squeal on the road though.
IMHO the std pads are absolutely fine and the best option for road use. On the road it's unlikely you will generate enough constant heat to initiate any fade. I think any uprated pad will wear faster and make more noise.
If it's fade you're worried about forget the pads and upgrade the fluid. Porsche also do performance pads which I hear are pretty good if a little expensive. I've done quite a few track days, a ring trip and a blast through France to Spain and found standard pads are plenty. Unless you're a track demon I really don't see the justification in going EBC or Pagid, just my opinion though...
