I'm on the search for an early 996 convertible but only have a maximum of £14,500 to spend. I've seen the following car advertised but it's a 3.5 hour drive from where I live:- http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/200942344069322/sort/priceasc/usedcars/make/porsche/model/911/body-type/convertible/price-from/13000/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/bs140nr?previous=%2Fsearch%2Fresults%2Fusedcars%2Fpostcode%2Fbs140nr%2Fradius%2F1500%2Fmake%2Fporsche%2Fmodel%2F911%2Fbody-type%2Fconvertible%2Fprice-from%2F13000%2Fsort%2Fpriceasc%2Fpage%2F1&anchor=advert200942344069322&logcode=p Does anyone live near "Keighley Sports & Performance" at Crosshills, Keighley who'd be willing to have a look at this to see if it's worth me travelling up for a proper look [ ] I'm willing to pay [ ]

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Nowhere near that place, but if you can afford a little more, this one, from the same dealer, looks nice... http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_popup.jsp?did=12545&pageid=5&originalid=&gid=nogroup&tid=20&start=8&distance=0&adcategory=cars&channel=DEALERPAGE&id=200942343861587

Thanks mate, sounds like a "dog"!! My search continues ...
I'm near and don't mind taking a look but be advised the dealer asn't got the best reputation.
I have also never heard anything positive about this dealer's reputation either.
I looked at a car there a few months ago, I didn't buy!!!! I am no expert but the car screamed don't buy me! I ended up buying from Motorhouse at Shipley. I paid more, but an uncomperable car. Hope this helps, Debbie
Motorhouse are good guys, usualy a tad more expensive but better to pay a bit more and get a good car, good luck with the search.
Yes Motorhouse were great, they even put up with me fussing around the smallest details... Debbie
Thanks all, I'll keep on looking ......
Kitt i do know someone who bought a silver 996 cab from Strasse a few months ago and now want's a C4s would you like me to get some details? He bought it from Strasse and they don't sell rubbish. I have seen it and all in all looks a good buy and it could be cheap, well cheap compared to what he paid Strasse for it! Let me know.
