Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

coolant for the rad Rob
Yes its the 'header' tank for the coolant system - one of the common failure items on the 996 (as well as its cap).
I can vouch for that.... sometimes misdiagnosed as : ".. .the engine has slipped a liner..." (i.e. rebuild) or " the cylinder head gasket has gone... (i.e. could have caused a lot of damage) ". And that was from an OPC! My car needed a new header tank cap. Much cheaper than either of the above diagnoses!
Thanks Guys, well mine is slightly below minimum so best get some coolant in there!! Any recommendations of a particular product that will work well? Thanks - Jon
