Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello everyone. I will be visiting a local tuning shop here in Toronto to be possibly doing some mods. Im looking to get an AWE exhaust with GIAC Ecu & Evo Filter. Just curious on what the pricing for something like this may cost just so Im prepared before I go to the shop. After I do those mods and do a de-snork what is the possible HP gain? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Qtqc, I had the EVO CAI and GIAC ECU flash upgrade done at Pfaff Tuning in Newmarket in August, and the prices were ( $Cdn. and pre tax): EVI CAI parts: $549.00 Labour: $300.00 GIAC Performance Upgrade: $1400.00 (ouch) Labour: $100.00 I can't tell you what the hp gains were, but they were noticeable - maybe 15 at the rear wheels. Definitely the throttle response improved, and it seems to pull better at higher rpm's. You may find the actual hp gains quantified and supported by Dyno results in other threads. Knowing what I know now, I would do it again, but I would still cringe at the price. Enjoy !

POST 3Original post

Hey I was actually going to head over to Pfaff also. The ECU price hurts but may go for it anyway. I want to ask them about the de-snork also

POST 4Original post

Qtqc, I did the de-snork myself following K-Man's instructions (see the Article section), and it was relatively easy and took about 2 (very inefficient) hours. The advantage of going to Pfaff for this is that you'll likely get a better "screen" assembly than you could fabricate yourself - at least better than I was able to make. It would be interesting to see what they would supply in this case, and what they would charge. Good luck.
