Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, dont know if any of you have had this, in the morning, first start of the day, my 996 sounds like it has a supercharger fitted, then as it warms it gets less but I can still hear it. I took it to Tonbridge who had a listen and said it sounded normal, I have a boxster as well ans that does not sounsd like it at all, any ideas?

POST 2Original post

If you are talking about the normal whine sound from the 3.4 then it's fine - most people like the noise. I don't think it should become less or more prominent though.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
