Any tips to get the starter out? I removed the two bolts, and undid the electrical connections, but I cant get the starter out. I can't even get it to budge. I've tried tapping it with a rod & mallet, and tried spinning the engine a bit. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Make sure your starter does not have any other brackets attached to it. I seem to remember on some of the cars that there was a supplemental bracket attached to the end of the starter motor. Once you have made sure the starter is free try to wiggle it up and down, left and right and that usually does the trick. - Casey
