Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, After great success, as well as pride and enjoyment of repainting my brake calipers, I have decided to repaint my seat backs in my 996 (graphite grey colour). Don't suppose anyone would know the RAL colour of the graphite grey interior please? Not sure whether to go, gloss, satin, or matt :?:

POST 2Original post

Hi Toddy, RAL is mainly a powdercoat coding system, which often doesn't match paint codes or colours. (Although you can have paint mixed to match RAL colours if you require.) It will be a case of choosing a metallic grey paint that's similar to what you want. If you want to keep it Porsche then Seal grey is lovely. Atlas is another but is much darker. Or go exterior colour to match whatever your car is. :thumb: Nice little project though. Makes a massive difference and looks great. 8) PS. Go gloss. Looks lovely. Unless I'm getting the wrong end of the stick and you're trying to closely replicate the original finish. I wouldn't bother though, it's 'orribble stuff.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Marky, You're right I'll not be doing the soft touch finish. Gloss is a good idea, car is black in colour and think this might look strange with no other interior black bits, as I have lots of carbon, but think carbon wrap would be overkill and detract from the real carbon. I'll probably match as close as possible the original colour. I think I'm there with you on the gloss👍

POST 4Original post

Looks like you have had some hitch hikers locked in the back trying to scratch their way out

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My youngest 5yr old at the time saw a couple of scratches, and thought it was some sort of scratching game!

POST 6Original post

And I was thinking of taking my 6 and 3 year olds out for a spin this weekend... I was going to remove their shoes first but now I'm thinking duck tape gloves on them too

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

😁 maybe their feet too, as mine also kicked the hell out of the seat backs too!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had it matched, closest is 7001 in case anyone in future needs it.
