Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been following this dude on YouTube who's fitting these to his 993. I like them!

POST 2Original post

I'm in the process of getting a set of 997 seats retrimed with hounds tooth (pepita) inserts for my 996.

POST 3Original post

...I have been thinking about this so are the inner sections of the seat easily removed?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The guy got a specialist to retrim the entire seats, new leather and inserts

POST 5Original post

Yes the top inner section at the top sort of hangs of a bracket if that's the right word. The bottom section isn't too difficult to disassemble. I have been quoted about £500 to do both seat inners with alcantara to match the leather. You could do anything though and I really like some of the fabrics.

POST 6Original post

As above. The backrests are easy as the cushion can be removed without taking the seat apart. The base the cover needs to come off as a whole. The guy I'm using is happy to just take the base cover apart and stitch in the new centre but I guess some will want to redo the whole thing. I've been quoted £95 per seat to do this. I'm providing the fabric from here, which is the same as the 911R fabric (slightly different from the original Pepita fabric). https://car-bone.pl/shop/pepita-houndstooth-fabric-black-white/ You can get all the classic Porsche fabrics from these guys https://www.martrim.co.uk/car-trimming-supplies/porsche-seat-cloth.php

POST 8Original post

I'm not going to refit my drivers seat, so it seems to be a bit pointless keeping it. If anyone would like a 996 hardback, heated sports seat with the seat back painted Arctic Silver and the leather in Metropol blue please let me know.

POST 9Original post

I had my seats refurbished in Red Tartan last year. I'd post a pic but I don't have the tech know how.

POST 10Original post

Wow where did you get quoted this? When I enquired about having my centres retrimmed in Paascha, I was getting quotes around £1000 with me supplying the fabric so I binned the idea. At that sort of money I'd be all over it! I'd love to see some pics of the finished job Uncle P :thumb:

POST 11Original post

Anyone else done this with costs? As my seats are out Ive been looking into it but costs are quite high. Almost better off ditching the sports seats and get some better ones as I dont really fit them that well.

POST 12Original post

Interested in this too. Cobra Nogaro seats would be amazing though.

POST 13Original post

With the costs associated Im now thinking of getting a Nogaro for a driver fixed bucket as it closely mimics sports seats and it still allows access for kids, other stuff from passengers side. Looks like it will slide forwarf enough for the youngest to squeeze past. In reality its me only driving 90%+ of the time and if wife/kids are in Im taking it easy so no need for two in the front. The miss match front seats wont bother me.

POST 14Original post

For the money the nogaro looks like an amazing deal. Can get a coubsport version with fabric cheaper too...

POST 15Original post

True, probably would go half leather though to try tie in a little with current seats.
