Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, wanted to say hello as bought a 03 996TT (sorry no pics yet). I've come from a 993 Targa which feels very different, I can't get over the torque when you plant your foot which brings a grin to my face every time. I bought a Tip as spend majority of the time in traffic, wondering what mpg other people get in the TT Tip(apologies, I've searched and found 18-20 on Manual but nothing for the Tip)? I'm used to 17/18 in the 993 with manual but averaging 13 around town now, maybe I have a leak!! Mpg is as expected on motorways at 26/28.

POST 2Original post

I get about 15-16 pootling to work and back across town, and like you 26-27 on a motorway run at the speed I normally drive, but can get 30mpg if I cruise at 70. (Can't do that for long though).

POST 3Original post

I average 24mpg with a mix of local and motorway, similar to previous 996C2 , BMW, Subaru

POST 4Original post

Well in my TT I do 17-19 in mixed driving between town and motorways daily. Motoroways I do 23-27 depending how fast Im driving. I have a picture of shame somewhere of 34 mpg going at 60 and bored as hell. I dont post the MPG when I was in Germany... but it was low. REALLY LOW. Have fun with your TT, one year after and I still love it as much as first day. Thats how good it is.

POST 5Original post

MPG Hi, just as a reference i have an 04TT manual and am getting an average over the last 300 miles of mostly around the town driving of 15mpg. I would imagine the Tip would return slightly less Mpg than the manual due to the transmission losses Ian
