Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I know this has been discussed but had some questions/ideas. I'm a big fan of protecting our cars from paint chips. But not so much of the hideous lines that the clear bras can make.I've seen several cars in person living in colorado alot of clear bra'd cars. Saw silver 360 Modena and man that line across the hood is just plain ugly. Anyways the best job I've seen was on an M3 he had he whole front bumper, rocker panels, mirrors, and front fenderswrapped in the clear bra. Wrapped so you couldn't see the lines. He did have a small strip on the hood, but it didn't look too bad. So my question is could you have the front bumper on the Cayman wrapped? I've heard numbers thrown out before that the clear bra only come in strips 24 inches wide, but I think it could be done. Other question is how far up the hood on the Cayman would you have to worry about rock chips? I think I might be able to handle just up past the porsche crest. What is the front bumper on the cayman cost? Cause I know on the M3 the cost to have it wrapped in clear bra is basically the cost of a new painted bumper.

I would suggest looking at www.invincaman.com and giving Alan a call as he can answer these type of questions for you (tell him you saw the info here and were directed to call him from me). In a nutshell how good or bad the install looks depends on the pattern and the installer. There are different pattern companies so understanding what they have available, what it covers, and how it is installed is part of the equation, and then getting a top notch installer is the other. When done right you'd barely notice the clear bra, when done wrong it can be an eyesore.
