I have an 03 986 base with 70,000 miles and yesterday I hit 118 it was completely fine shaking a little but nowhere near what you would think for that speed.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

We just had a very long thread on this subject, and let me tell you, you're nowhere near the record!!!!
haha send me the link. I knew i wasnt the record but just wanting to see others and how there car held up.
Do a thread search and you'll find dozens of responses to this question. I am sure you are referring to driving 118 on a track and not public roads, right? (various forum members and the owner do not condone triple digit speeds on public roads!) I hit 115 on the track at my last DE and that's the fastest I've driven my box. Not the fastest I've driven a car though... that would be 162 mph in a Carrera on the autobahn.
Here you go buddy, enjoy the great stories!! http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8547
Let me tell you...it's been raining here the past 2 weeks and the week that I was working out of town (120 mi. one way), it was raining really hard and..i gunned it...125 mph for few miles  well, i thought about it...hehehehe!
143 MPH and smooth as glass!!
I have been above 145 MPH. Had no shaking and was smooth as glass driving as if i was doing 60. I has been snowing here so i haven't been able to get her out lately and its driving me nuts lol
With my luck, I'd chew up an IMS bearing about the same time I hit tipple digits with the RMS collapsing because the AOS couldn't take anymore causing the engine to lock hard before I could push in on the clutch that now failed locked sending the Box into a terrible spin throwing it into something much more solid than itself causing just enough damage to not total it just as an officer of the law happened to be passing by and as luck would also have it, witness the entire event to help in my proper recollection for the judge. Or something like that.
BRAVO, This post is a hall of famer!
150mph on the autobahn
I refuse to answer on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.
157mph...... I got pulled over while slowing down 124mph :ah:
(I'm just waiting for all the Dad's to go chime in and bare arms)
You got tagged going 124 mph? I remember you posting about this but didn't realize it was that fast. How did that end up for you?
Man that ticket cost me $3500 in attorney fees but got dismissed and off my record. Took amost 12months to complete. I was aquited of all charges (speeding and tints)
Ouch! That's a Zeintech hardtop man!
Yeah brother, spent all my mod money on that. Happy to say though I learned my lesson... That was 3 years ago this May and I haven't gotten a ticket since.
Yeah, I learned my speeding lesson as well a while back. All it took was two weekends in jail and a $750 fine.
My 99 2.5 made it all the way up to 154, with objects fast approaching, I decided it was best to not go for the last 200rpm before the limiter! Oh yeah, on closed undisclosed course.
