Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all. Just back from John Kleis in Reading after a full head unit amp speakers upgrade (photos to follow in my project thread) and something weird happened when I got home. I locked it and it beeped like I'd left the lights on. I went back to have a look inside to see if I'd left the radio or something else on but no. So I locked it again and it beeped again. I turned off the garage light and saw the little light by the rear view mirror is still on. And I've no idea how to turn it off or what has happened. Could it be a rewiring issue or something else? This has never happened in the 6 years I've owned it. Any ideas? As always, thanks in advance.

I believe there is a contact for the stereo to indicate that it is there, can't quite remember where though. My money is on that. MC

The original Porsche radio has a contact on the n/s of it .. if the radio is stolen it will trigger the alarm .. They have not disconnected this wire which is why its beeping on locking .. the car can see the contact is in the closed position when it should be open . You can pull off the trim with the switches in it and with a screw driver push the connection off the tab .. it will be very secure though . Blue grey or blue brown wire i think .

MisterCorn and Demort (as always!) thank you. I'll speak to my Porsche tech about sorting when I get the callipers refurbished next month.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
