The wife and I had a belated valentines romantic weekend away fri/sat/sun, a 650 mile round trip from Surrey to North Wales and back. We spent two nights in a beautifully snug little cottage with a wood burning stove and walked some of the welsh countryside. It was great to be able to take the 996 for it's first long trip since we bought it and despite all our recent battery problems (see other thread!) it did not miss a beat, started first time every time, drove, sounded and looked the business! I have wanted a 911 for 25 years since I was a little boy and this weekend made the wait worthwhile. To cap it all the weather was fantastic, in February! That's what it's all about

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good show Whaletale...hope the Mrs enjoyed it! ~ Maxie
You picked a great weekend for it. It sounds great. Did you get any pics of the 996 in the sunshine? My good lady and I are doing mid Wales this weekend. I really hope that the roads that I have planned are nice and dry!! It is going to be the first real chance that I have had to get some pictures of my 996 since getting it in December. I just hope that SWMBO does not get too upset that her weekend away will be across the Welsh mountains (Monmouth through Brecon, Elan Valley, Brecon Beacons!), staying in a pub specialising in real ales and with all my camera gear aboard!! Regards, Nigel
I did get some pics but they are too big for me to post here without conversion and I have not got around to learning that yet(!) The wife loved it but she tends to sleep when we drive long distances, just woken up by the odd overtake... Have a nice time Nigel! :thumb:
Nigel, I'm also headed to wales this weekend (mid wales - brecons) for a mini-hoon with 3 mates so if you see a black turbo in convoy then give me a flash to say hi !!
Pleased you had a good weekend. So in conclusion, what do you think were the reasons for your bad starting? Sorry if you've already declared this in you previous thread. Ray :bandit:
Hi Ray, didn't start this morning  I am not really understanding it at the moment as the only differences are that yesterday I only did 60 miles and the previous day I did 250 miles.. Removing the Kenwood head unit has helped but I think I have to pursue the tracker removal route... :frustrated:
