My wheels on my C2 dont quite fill the wheel arches at the top, they look a bit weedy I sometimes think What spacers can i fit, sems they are about an Inch or so not wide enough each side, what size spacers would I need? Will fitting them chance the handling and steering? Can you fit just to the rear or do you have to do both, and what are the merits? Thanks Edward

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What offsets are they? Do the GT3 wheels come in different offsets? Genuine spacers aren't cheap, anyway I'd err on the side of caution and not go too far perhaps try a 5mm and take it from there...only a suggestion you dont want to go upsetting the handling.
Sorry I dont even know what you mean by "Offset" I am afraid :? Porscheshop seemed to have some for circa £100 I thought, which got me thinking. Its a C2 with GT3 wheels. the tyres are 265/35R18 ZR if that helps. Thanks Edward
Here is a diagram that explains offset quite simply. Basically taking a centre line of the wheel the offset (measured as ET) is the distance in mm's from this line to the mounting face. Putting a spacer on will effectively/artificially reduce the offset. Lets say you have a Boxster wheel which maybe 7.5" rim and a 996 wheel that is maybe an 8" rim. They need different offsets to end up with sitting with the outer face of the wheel in the same position as they are working from a centre line (not the outer face). Why the difference on wheels...because different cars have the hub closer/further in from the body. E.g. a widebody 993 has a rear Turbo wheel offset of ET40 but a narrow body has ET65. A narrow body cant take ET40 but a widebody can take a ET65 with a 25mm spacer (as they are same size rim). So same wheel style but different offset, hence possibly you don't have the 'ideal' offset on your wheels, or that they are designed like that for handling. On your car tedzwedz the offset may be larger than you like, so decreasing the offset actually pushes the wheel out. Hope I've made that a bit easier?
Blind the man with science !
Lower it!
True....
Ted - Slam it and put 285/30's on the rear presuming you have ET65 offset on the rear wheels. - Simon
After feeling poorly and watching American "Overhaulin" late at night!! :dont know: Wonder if they measure this in the major overhauls they do???? When young I stuck 6" rear width on the back of my imp with 5" fronts!! Felt "light" on the front but wellllll ... ok lets face it it was looks not speed way back then!! :thumb:
