Not sure if this is a common issue so thought I would share it. When's I was changing my engine mounts I notice the original coolant hose had been rubbing on the chassis next to the mount O/S. Replaced it with OEM parts, the original hose has been superseded with the following P/N if you need to replace it: 997 106 831 03 997 106 216 00 996 106 321 50 The new hose comes with quick release at either end.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well spotted .. you saved yourself a breakdown there .. i can honestly say looking in the rear view mirror when a pipe lets go is a heart stopping moment .. Only seen it once but it scared the crap out of me that's for sure . It's not a common issue though .. my guess its due to an engine out at some time or a replacement of a pipe ...... it has been fitted to far back causing it to rub. New one is modified so that Porsche don't have to make X2 similar items and just make you buy the 997 setup instead with modified housing .
Yes, it would of been very inconvenient if it had burst on the road. Great to hear it's not a common issue, my initial thoughts were with worn engine mounts it was causing the engine to sag/drop slightly which might of been enough to allow the hose to touch. Thanks
When I read your first post I thought engine the mounts may be the cause as my coolant pipe is no where near rubbing on mine.
