Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

My "new" 987.2 w/ TPC turbo has been overheating on the track so I've tried some experiments to try to figure out what's wrong.Took a short city drive yesterday w/ ambient 89* and when I got home water temp was around 190. I sat in my driveway for about 10-15 mins.w/ the A/C on at 1500 rpm. Water temp reached 232* and rising so I quit. Dash "gauge" had barely moved. Is this normal cooling system behavior? I'm wondering about the thermostat being at least partially stuck closed. There was never a point where the temp dropped, like when the thermostat should have fully opened. It has a center radiator but it is dedicated to the intercooler.

POST 2Original post

Water Temperature Accuracy I've noticed in 105 degree traffic, the coolant temp per the gauge remains the same (about 177 degrees). I used to have a Mazdaspeed 6, along with a DashHawk (which would tap into about any parameter in the car's computer). In traffic, the coolant temp would get up to 225, displayed on the... www.planet-9.com
