Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2014 Cayman with 37,000 miles. Last year the driver door panel buckled in hot weather and lifted away from the frame. I have a "really pretty" gap between the window and door panel. The passenger door is starting to buckle now. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? I took the car to the local dealer who suggested I buy new panels for $3,800 each. Gulp! Really? I think it's a design flow. The door panel should not lift because of heat. What they don't sell Caymans in Arizona????? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Unfortunately its a well known design flaw on the 981 and 911 models. A Google or forum search for " 981 warped door panels" will bring up plenty of reading for you. BTW this is the 987 Cayman forum you started this thread in which is the previous generation of Cayman before your 981
