Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The straight, thin bar called that goes from left axle to right axle underneath the gearbox mount? I'm thinking cross member?

POST 2Original post

No.8 here i assume .. i would call it a brace bar .. these guys dont though http://www.deroure.com/diagrams.asp?MAK=3&MDL=25&TBL=2596&SMA=&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Right then some pictures: This is the bar I'm talking about and I have no idea if it the same one as in the diagram: This is a 'new' coffin arm below? I just need help identifying what it is called so I can buy it. Porsche upgraded them because they were too weak as i'll show in the next photo: This is the 'old' one below that needs to be replaced as all the others are double braced: I *think* these are the correct arms I've taken photos of but taking pictures on back in the dark at full stretch lol.[/list]

POST 4Original post

1st pic is the brace bar (transverse strut) 2nd pic is a coffin arm 3rd pic is the rear track control arm Everything is as it should be. Don't swap your track control arm for a coffin arm, that won't work.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. 3rd pic I've got the wrong one then. Basically pic 2 is proper item and pic 3 should have shown the weaker one.

POST 6Original post

Did this thread just get shorter :dont know: MOD' REPLY: => Dear Auntie Demort

POST 7Original post

3rd pic Track control arm Hello all, Was going to start a new thread but having a search found this thread. Don't want to jack this thread but was wondering what the third Track control Arm does and what symptoms it causes when the rubber bushings may fail on that? Thanks in advance

POST 8Original post

Coffin arm does rear camber, other control arm does rear toe. Worn bushes will have the toe varying and make handling worse and produce worn edges on your tyres.

POST 9Original post

oh brilliant - thank you Im just in the middle of collecting bits for a suspension refresh and wasn't sure what that track control arm did, does that control arm only exist on the rear? 2 per wheel?

POST 10Original post

1 per rear wheel. Your steering wheel controls the front ones.
