Put my name on the list hours after the announcement. 2nd in line and doubt I will be able to get one.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good luck! I know my sales rep is getting one. I intend to check it out. If I like it maybe I'll pick up a used one in a few years.
It is doubtful since they are producing fewer 911R than 918, so you would need to have a few 918 owners turn down the chance to own a unique Porsche or to make a quick profit. Good luck, I would like to see you autocrossing one. williamr
Exactly....and if I was a 918 owner, I would buy the 911R and put it in a garage for a year and make at least a 30% profit. (since I am not a 918 owner, I would drive the **** out of it) No real "purist" is going to get one of these. Most are going to investors and collectors and will sit in warehouses.
If I had the money for a 918, I don't think I would care to make a $50K profit on some 911. Is this really happening, and then why? Someone that owns a 918 should have a net worth much north of $10M (random number I am making up), so $50K seems very small.
You can take it to the bank that collectors, some 918 owners, bought GT4s and stuck them in their collection. That's a $85K car and might never appreciate much. Its not even a numbered car. This is a numbered car and its a 911. It will go into the collection and might never get driven. In other words, its no different than buying a $200,000 Silver Dollar. Its just part of the collection. So it has nothing to do with the profit. Some people collect stamps, some cars, some coins. One guy at BJ buys the FIRST vin of each model year Vette. Now there is some money. Do you think the cars actually get driven?
If you donate $185K to me ill be interested to
I'm just a small budget guy who loves all Porsches. I never owned a 911 because they were always more expensive and Porsche always tempted me with lesser models. I'd love to have a 911R, but realistically should not buy one even if I get the opportunity. My max budget, preference and gut all keep bringing me back to the GT4. I owned a 981 CS and know what a great machine it is. The GT4 adds everything I could want beyond my CS. Availability of both used and new GT4's, seems to be improving, as we speak, based on my discussions this week with several dealers where I have a relationship. So it'll be a surprise to me if I don't own a GT4 by the end of this year. That's my dream car, at the top end of my budget. I know there are better Porsches out there, and Porsches with sunroofs. But I still like the GT4s...
We have 23 names on the Waiting List in Saudi Arabia for the R. One of them is a very close friend of mine. He's a collector but he drives them all. Very few mileage on each but simply because he has many. He's number 3 on the list. And we hear Saudi Arabia will get between 13 to 19 allocations. The configurator is not up here yet, so few weeks to go before securing the deal. For me, I see the R is a blackmail from Porsche at 200k USD. Sell it at the price of a GT3, I'll respect that. Above that is greed.
I have a question from 'the friend', and I'd appreciate feedback about it: His question is, if he orders the R without PCM would he get speakers and an Aux or USB for music? TIA
Was at the dealer today. Actual quotes overheard from a sales guy: "There are 25 people with deposits on it" "Don't know how many we are getting, but at least 3 for the 918 owners" "We are going to make a lot of people upset as a result of this car"
I will never understand why Porsche doesn't make all the cars it can sell minus 1. I don't like their business model.
REPOST I have a question, if one orders the R without PCM would he get speakers and an Aux or USB for music? TIA
BTW, the R builder shows the first clear tail lights for the 991.2. Looks nice.
Had dinner with a handful of friends on Saturday. Told them I signed for the 911R. Also said that there was about zero chance I would get one. But I can say that I ordered one and am on the list. Good laugh all around. Got the call a few years ago to come on down and spec out my dealers only allocation for a GT3 RS4. Could not do it at the time. (insert crying thingy here) I have a good friend that would like a 911R because it looks like any 911 to the normal richardhead on the street. He really does not like the attention an RS gets him. Sold his 2010 RS for that reason. Kicking his own arse now as he sees what they are selling for now.
Officially told yesterday not to expect to get an allocation. Meh. Maybe time to buy a Corvette. Would need a gold chain though.
I was told that except for a very, very small number of cars, the 918 owners are taking them all and a very tiny number of remaining cars will come to the US after the worldwide distribution - a small number like under 20.
