Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can I just check - to keep the roar of the sports exhaust on at all times do I just connect one of the rubber hoses, and does it matter which one? Should I cover the exposed ends?

POST 2Original post

KM, this is how to turn pse on all the time on a 997. http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=42251&highlight=hack On a 996 :dont know: Pete :thumb:

POST 4Original post

I hope that isn't a euphamism for something else It is Friday night. Pete

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I unplugged one of the hoses and that seemed to work. What brown socket are you referring to?

POST 6Original post

KM it's on a 997 top right of the engine and was a lead with a brown into grey connection. I doubt it's the same on a 996. Some avid 996 owner will assist you. It was a real simple thing to do on mine once I figured the clip. Good luck. Pete

POST 8Original post

Then KentMan should be happy when he picks this up in the morning then. Pete

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thx - will check it out in the morning.

POST 11Original post

I thought on a 996 you had to take the realy out of the fuse box and remove diode no 1? The brown connector route is 997 ?

POST 13Original post

Removing the diode (as I have done on my 996) stops the quiet band between 25-40mph, but still leaves it switchable. I'm assuming the connector removale makes it loud all the time ?

POST 14Original post

can this do any damage to the car, i have the sports exhaust, and have this connector in the engine bay, only thing is i dont have switchable exhaust, was it an option to have sports exhaust that isnt switchable? what is the benefit of disconnecting this connector?

POST 15Original post

Yes it is loud all the time, but not switchable
