hello everyone, new on here and looking for some advice i am looking at getting a 911 996 but cant decide what to go for as my girlfriend will also be driving it unfortunately other wise i would defo be going for the turbo. i currently drive a 1 off 2000 clk 55 which is insanely fast and don't really want a slower car but have wanted a Porsche since forever so we have decided to get rid of both our cars hers being a 206 cc and get one. she wants the carrera 4 convertible but I'm not convinced. Don't really want to spend much more than £26000. Also has any one had any experiences with Cameron sports cars of bath (independent Porsche specialist)? this seems to be my nearest dealer apart from Porsche. any advice would be much appreciated.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

:welcome: could you let me know some more about your clk as I too have a 2000my 55AMG james :thumb:
hi, best advice is: Shop around, there are plenty of cars available around 26K, always buy on condition rather than mileage, as usual service history (official porsche centre = OPC) or good Indy is a must, along with getting a reliable PPI done to save any headaches.. test drive everything, take your time and see what you and the mrs like, it really is a buyers market! Good luck! :thumb:
Hello! A client of mine recently bought from Cameron - I can't remember who it was though. I do remember them being professional and helpful when I requested the invoice though. The very best you could buy for your money would be to push the budget a tad and get a 996 C4S Cab otherwise C2/C4 perfectly fine.
So James, for the rest of us, how does am amg55 compare to a 911 to drive? You must like both.
Hi Sawyer3 - welcome to the forum. Shameless plug on my own car for sale in the link below...... ~ Maxie
like them both; 993 much more involving all round, sound, smaller size, feel, handling. Great to jump in at the weekend (IMHO better built). AMG much more power/torque, pulls like a train in a straight line (which is highly addictive), but show it some bends and it trys to visit the hedgerows, steering lacks a bit of feel though. Much easier to drive 'normally' as a daily driver and more comfortable'ish', covers long distances with great ease and you can fit a lot in it. SHOCKING on the fuel though! :thumb: PS Sawyer3 looking at the pics your merc, it's a brutish beaut!
