I love my 996tt but I would like to upgrade it a bit to make it a bit more special without affecting the Porsche warranty that it currently has until end of June 09 and that I intend to renew. I thought about giving it a nice sport exhaust and a short shift gear option. Has anyone already experienced this on a 996 tt and knows if this would affect a warranty ? I do not even dare calling an OPC to ask the question as apparently Porsche declines to renew the warranty when the battery is not the Porsche one.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Exhaust would invalidate the warranty. Short shift is fine as long as it is theirs.
my advise is to ditch the warantee and make the car the one that you want to own. There are alternatives for cover that will include choice mods as long as they are reputable and the car passes the cover inspections. Thats what i'm doing when my wtee runs out this week ) Let the mods begin !
Thanks. I do not wish to start a long debate but what are the wtees that are truly alternative to the Porsche wtee ?
Any non standard parts found on the car would invalidate access to renewing your Porsche Warranty. Regards Big Bob :bye:
Depends what you want from your wtee.... no one else will offer you the comprehensive cover of opc as yet that i know, however, you have to offset that against what they are asking you for in order to qualify. if you're prepared to stump up, have your car serviced at opc, and keep it 100% standard, then i'd say keep the opc cover. But given you've asked about tuning options and the opc wtee in that context, i suspect that you need to figure out what you value most before you can make a decision, cuz they are mutually exclusive now.
Thanks ZeroH, this is what I thought. I think I will keep my car as standard as possible with the view to extending the wtee for another year and the year after do the mods that I like.
oh, Fred, c'mon, have some fun why don't cha! seriously, Porsche have decreed not extra fun allowed without serious "risk", hmm, even their service staff think it's ridiculous.....I must stop, feel a waaranty rant coming on, wrong forum for that..... Paragon will give you a warranty for a reasonable amount and you can tweak to your hearts content within reason. Now, if they are happy to do that why aren't PCGB?
yup- I have their warranty and they remapped it for me as well :worship:
OK thanks that may be the way forward and I will give them a call tomorrow to check this out. The issue though is that I have not bought my car at Paragon.
I called Paragon and they are going to send me some documentation about their warranty scheme. Does anyone know if they have any repayment limit (such as the £5K limit on some of third party schemes) ?
I think they do.
