As IVe been looking around black / Lapis / seal grey and silver are more frequent than others. Were all other colours specified by the buyer. Ive seen a dark green one, now sold, seemed cheap. A Bronze coloured one - again cheaper than most. Cobalt Blue (My fave) - seem to command more outlay - typical!! Red - Few and far between but one for sale, I would say not competitively priced currently. Yellow Are these a potential nightmare for re-sale! I guess price shoudl reflect condition / spec but do colours affect this? I've always been one for looking at those that go against the 'norm'. dont want to think it will cost me in the end!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Your observations are pretty spot on. The 'safe' colours are usually chosen by people who want to sell on easily ie, dark blues, silvers, blacks. The more outlandish colours are very much an individual choice and may be harder to sell on with green apparently being a nightmare 996 colour to sell. Not seen a bronze 996 but I would guess that's just as hard to shift. Yellow on a Turbo you would probably get away with but not on a non-kitted 996. Cobalt blue was a special order colour (like GT Silver) and so it commands a premium as it's a very desirable colour. As for interior colours, the Savannah and the green leathers are again the least desirable with black being the most desirable followed by dark blue. I believe grey is a half way house. ~ Maxie
I had a rain forest green Turbo a fair few years ago... I got hammered on the trade in but it was cheaper than comparable ones when I bought it.. I had a basalt black Turbo a fair few years ago... I got hammered on the trade in and it was no cheaper when purchased... Which one stood out from the crowd and my friends still say they remember?? Yep the RF green one.. Buy the colour you want, not the one the dealer wants to buy back from you. garyw
I have a boring silver 996tt. With hindsight I wish I had gone for something a little more in your face like Cobalt or Guards Red. The RF one with Savannah that was at Northways IMO was a good looking car at a bargain price. I am not going to get rid of mine but it may look very different by the end of the year colour wise 8)
Pink :?: :dont know:  8)
I totally agree with the above. I would have thought if you buying a second hand car in an unpopular colour then it would already be discounted when you buy it. And wouldn't have thought you would have a problem if you p/x (although dealer might try and use it as a bargaining tool) but would expect it to take longer if you trying to sell privately. As for the Turbo in Forest Green at Northways, he did himself no favours posting the pictures he did - it looked very green
Urban Camo? 8) or Hello Kitty?
The "popular" colours quoted for the TT are not disimilar for the general 996 and 997 Porsche vehicle "park". Look outside any Porsche OPC or Porsche Specialist for the most boring range of colours  . Personally I like Speed Yellow  and Guards Red :thumb: , as they go with the Porsche territory of sports cars, rather than expensive executive transport  . I think you should go for the Cobalt Blue if it turns you on :thumb: . Regards Big Bob :bye:
But Bob, :hand: Silver is the national racing colour of Germany - if you want red then you should have bought a Ferrari....... :wack:
Fuchs zis is so true, but as ze family ve already have ze Silver Mercedes SL500 - ya! I dont vant another bloody silver car. Vich country by ze vay uses Yellow as the racing colour perhaps it eez the damn Yankees. But I dont vant a bloody Chevrolet Corvette either :wack: Mit freundlichen grussen. Herr Big Bob :bye:
yeah as I suspected...and thanks for the response. I remember seeing the green one with svannah leather - COOL. Cheap as well... low mileage and low price. Spec means alot as well as I'd like one thats x50 power min or with a pipe already added (Theyre fairly expensive to add yourself!). I know - I dont want much do I!!
Forest green looks more black than green ... below is picture that 911virgin posted on their site and it looked so good I bought it
Ahh, well that's not your typical Savannah hide. I think most people would fall for the racing seats not to menton the carbon fibre trim you have there regardless of the colour. It looks quite good actually. ~ Maxie
those brown seats with black look fantastic. Ive noticed that a disproportionate number of the cheapest TTs are Lapis blue. Doom blue?
I looked at the Rainforest Northway TT and nearly bought it, couldn't sell the 993 in time. Decided on a Tip in the end but loved the colour, looked better than the pics suggested
