Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

SPIED: 2012 Porsche 911 Coupe and Convertible Drop Body Camo Completely - Carscoop

POST 2Original post

I like the look a lot! Classic but fresh at the same time. Hard to do but it looks like they pulled it off. They also added more curves in the waist it looks like. Thanks for the pics, great find!

POST 4Original post

Not sure about that rear end it just looks overinflated, but I'll reserve judgement until I see them in the flesh....well metal.

POST 5Original post

In the first pic (front 3/4 view) as you look down the side, squint a bit and if you put some air intakes ala Cayman..........the new rear fenders are more pronounced and look Cayman'sh.

POST 7Original post

Some more pics: Porsche - Picture Gallery - Autocar.co.uk {You can link directly to the related article} Not sure I am overwhelmed by the new look (= old look + a few tweaks). The general direction seems to be more curvy, less characterful.

POST 8Original post

Isn't that how every new iteration of the 911 is? There's never been a revolutionary change to its look.

POST 9Original post

I like the slight difference in the wheels (going to 20s) and how they fit in the wheel wells (fill them). I also like the windshield slope.

POST 10Original post

Interesting contradiction between the UK autoblog and the Car & Driver article centers on where the new "extra interior space" can be felt. C&D says the front feels roomier with no changes to the rear area and the UK article says more rear space leg room.... so which is it?

POST 11Original post

Some people are going to in for a big surprise once they try driving 20's on some of the roads we have!

POST 12Original post

You want to see the evolution, just park the 991 next to a 1970's vintage 911. The most salient difference will be that it will look like a 5:4 scale up of the older car.

POST 13Original post

20s will be rougher, but some of it depends on the O.D. of the tire and amount of sidewall (if any) versus the current 19s. Just be thankful they are not run-flat tires, that would be brutal!

POST 14Original post

Realizing that the telephoto shots may distort the views, they look wider, lower slung and have a sophisticated aggressive look. To my taste they're sweet.

POST 15Original post

To me, they're making the Cayman look like a 911 and the 911 like a Cayman. Soon you'll be just trading a trunk for a mini back seat and weight distribution. They're morphing into the same car, which is a bad thing. The sales numbers on one of them is going to drop because of this, want to guess which one? If they put the same engine & tranny (SlipDiff) in a Cayman why would you get a 911. For me, my practical side didn't buy a 911 because it cost a lot more, didn't handle as well and couldn't hold a set of golf clubs. My designer side likes the look of the Cayman way better, hips baby!

POST 17Original post

I don't think the headlights are the final look, there appears to be a clear camoflage over the actual design. Let's face it, you cannot radically change the shape of the car and still call it a 911. The increased overall length appears to be hidden by wider rear fenders and somewhat shorter overhangs. Given the size of the car and the Panamera interior I'm not going to rush out and place an order.

POST 18Original post

I think the hood, headlights, and front windshield look very nice.
