Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Has anyone got any info on fitting rear strut brace to a 996 cab? I purchased a carbon fibre one mainly because it seemed like a good idea at the time, and now not so sure as to the fitting and the benefits?

POST 2Original post

probably unnecessary as the 911 cab is already well sorted

POST 3Original post

Unless you are planning on some serious tracking - in which case I guess you would have bought a coupe or a GT3 - it will probably be more of an inconvenience. As Sundeep says, the 996 is a well sorted car. Unfortunately, a lot of accessories are designed to catch people by suggesting that you really need one, even when you don't. It's the same with a 996 front strut brace. The 996 is stiffer than the 993s or 964s and it will probably make things too stiff on the public highway.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
