Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

A few years ago, I bought a 987.2 Boxster S . The stock, non- PASM suspension , was horrible, so I went for Öhlins because of adjustability. While the car drives beautifully on smooth roads, it's too stiff on small, uneven surfaces (bumps are fine, potholes etc. aren't) - even on the softest setting. I am thinking of retrofitting OEM Spyder suspension but I'm afraid it'll be the same problem. Does anyone have experience with both and can chime in?

Previously I had a 987.1 where I had installed Ohlins and had the same observations as you even when I played around with softer spring rates so when I bought my 987.2 with the non- PASM suspension went with a different route on suspension. First tried Bilstein B12’s which ended up being too low and not that great and ended up with Cayman R springs (= Spyder ) with Koni Sport shocks following the suggestion from Gert@ Carnewal and, to me, it’s a great setup for daily driven car. Thanks for the background guys - it's always helpful to hear what doesn't work, as well as what does. FWIW my roads around Dubai are festooned with speed bumps. The stock non- PASM suspension is a useful height for the humps, but I want to lower for aesthetics and trackability without getting a crashy ride. Will look into the Cayman R / Kona setup!
